Though God created us to have a relationship with Him, we fall short of His standard, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23 NKJ)

The Bible tells us that the result of sin is death (Romans 6:23).

Why? God sees our hearts, and no matter how hard we try, we are all selfish, living according to our own desires. In the light of a holy God, we all miss the mark.

But far worse is separation from the only One who sees us exactly how we are, and still loves us! Try as we may to reach God through our own efforts, we will fail. We can't ever be good enough.

This is called sin - and it is what separates us from God.
